Understanding Guest Types When Requesting or Completing an Order
When creating a ticket request or completing an order in TicketOS, you may need to assign guests to the tickets. Choosing the correct guest type helps keep your guest list organized and ensures tickets are assigned properly.
Overview
TicketOS provides several guest type options depending on who will be using the tickets and whether you know the guest’s information at the time of the request.
Available guest types may include:
- Contact
- Employee
- System Profile
- Myself
Each option is designed for a different use case.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Choose the Correct Guest Type
- Begin creating a request or completing an order.
- Navigate to the guest information section.
- Select the appropriate guest type based on who will be attending the event.
Contact
Use Contact when adding someone outside of your organization.
Examples may include:
- Clients
- Prospects
- Business partners
- Personal guests
When selected, you can search for or add an external contact record. If the Contact does not yet exist, you can click Create New Contact to add them as a new contact.
Employee
Use Employee when adding someone from your company or organization.
Examples may include:
- Coworkers
- Team members
- Executives
- Internal staff
When selected, you can search your company directory for the employee’s information.
System Profile
Use System Profile when you do not yet know the guest’s exact information.
Examples may include:
- A client’s spouse or guest
- Placeholder names
- Unconfirmed attendees
This option allows you to reserve ticket spots until final guest details are available.
Myself
Use Myself when you will personally be attending the event.
Selecting this option automatically assigns you as the guest for the ticket.
What Happens Next
After selecting guest types and adding guests:
- Your request or order can be submitted for processing
- Guest information will appear on the order details
- You may be required to update placeholder guests before tickets are delivered
Common Issues
Contact Information Is Missing
If a guest profile is missing you may need to add a new contact.
Unable to Find an Employee
If an employee does not appear in the company directory:
- Verify the spelling of the name
- Confirm with your organization that the employee has an active account or directory profile
Important Notes
- Use Contact for external attendees
- Use Employee for internal attendees
- Use System Profile for placeholders
- Use Myself only for your own attendance
- Some organizations may limit which guest types are available
