Can I Request More Tickets Than My Limit?

If you need more tickets than your allowed request limit, you cannot exceed the limit in a standard Company ticket request. However, TicketOS provides alternative options depending on availability. This article explains how the Waitlist works and when you can use TOS Marketplace or Special Request instead.

Overview

Your organization may set limits on how many Company tickets you can request for a specific event.

If you need additional tickets beyond your limit, you have three potential options:

  • Submit a request through the Waitlist (if available for the event)

  • Purchase tickets through the TOS Marketplace

  • Submit a Special Request

Availability and approval requirements depend on your organization’s settings.

Option 1: Submit a Waitlist Request for Company Tickets

The Waitlist is a request-and-review process within TicketOS that allows multiple users to request the same limited Company ticket inventory.

When an event is offered through the Waitlist:

  1. You select the desired ticket quantity.

  2. You complete checkout, including required guest and usage details.

  3. You submit the request.

Your order status will show as Pending Waitlist Approval.

Submitting a Waitlist request:

  • Does not reserve tickets

  • Does not guarantee fulfillment

  • Places your request into a review process

Requests are evaluated based on available inventory. Outcomes may include:

  • Approved

  • Denied

  • Fulfilled with alternate tickets (if available)

If approved, your order will move forward according to your organization’s process.

Option 2: Use TOS Marketplace

If Company tickets are unavailable, fully awarded, or not offered for the event, you may be able to purchase tickets through the TOS Marketplace.

Marketplace tickets:

  • Are separate from Company inventory

  • May include service fees

  • May require approval before billing is completed

Marketplace inventory is not reserved during approval. Availability is confirmed when the purchase is finalized.

Option 3: Submit a Special Request

If tickets are not available through Company inventory or the Marketplace, you may have the option to submit a Special Request.

A Special Request allows you to request tickets for events not currently available in TicketOS.

Fulfillment depends on:

  • Availability

  • Organizational approval

  • Your company’s policies

What Happens Next

After choosing an option:

  • Waitlist requests move to a review status.

  • Marketplace requests may require approval before billing is completed.

  • Special Requests follow your organization’s approval process.

  • You cannot exceed your Company ticket limit within a single standard request.

  • The Waitlist is a request-and-review process, not a first-come, first-served queue.
