Understanding Your Ticket Options in TicketOS

TicketOS provides several ways for users to access tickets depending on availability, company policies, and event demand. This guide explains the main ticket options you may see in the platform and how each request type works.

Overview: Ticket Access Options in TicketOS

Tickets in TicketOS generally fall into two categories:

  • Company-owned ticket inventory (managed by your organization)

  • Tickets requested or purchased outside of company inventory

Understanding the difference helps you choose the right option when placing an order.

Allocated Tickets (Incomplete Order)

Allocated tickets are tickets that have been assigned directly to you.

Key points:

  • Reserved specifically for your use

  • May appear under My Orders

  • Often require you to complete the order before a deadline

Best for:

  • Tickets already designated for you by your organization

Public Tickets (First Come, First Served)

Public tickets are company tickets made available to eligible users on a first come, first served basis.

Key points:

  • Anyone with access can request them

  • Requests may still require approval depending on company policy

  • The first approved request receives the tickets

Best for:

  • Quickly requesting available company inventory

Waitlisted Tickets

Waitlisted tickets allow multiple users to request limited inventory.

Key points:

  • Requests are collected over a set period of time

  • A designated approver determines which request is fulfilled

  • Not all waitlist requests are guaranteed

Best for:

  • High-demand events where tickets are limited

Special Ticket Requests (Outside Company Inventory)

If tickets are not available within company inventory, you may have the option to submit a special request.

Key points:

  • Used when company tickets are unavailable

  • Requests typically require review and approval

  • Fulfillment depends on availability and company policy

Best for:

  • Events not currently covered by corporate inventory

Purchasing Tickets Through the TicketOS Marketplace

In some cases, you may be able to purchase tickets directly through the TicketOS Marketplace.

Key points:

  • Tickets may be available for direct purchase

  • Marketplace orders differ from company inventory requests

  • Delivery and fulfillment timing may vary

Best for:

  • Purchasing tickets when company inventory is not available

Choosing the Right Option

Use this quick guide to decide:

  • Order tickets assigned to you → Allocated Tickets

  • Request tickets anyone can claim → Public Tickets

  • Request limited, high-demand tickets → Waitlist

If you’re unsure which option applies to your request, check the ticket status in TicketOS or contact your organization’s ticket administrator for guidance.
